Delete your account

Open the Butiq app, go to account settings and choose delete account. The app tells you what will happen to your shop before you confirm.

Write to [email protected] from the email address of the account and ask for it to be deleted. We confirm the request and complete it within one month.

• If you are the only member of a shop, deleting your account closes that shop. The app asks you to confirm this first; without that confirmation nothing is closed. Closing cannot be undone and the storefront stops accepting orders. A payment a customer already started when the shop closes still reaches the baker's own payment account, but Butiq does not record it, so the baker handles it directly with the customer.
• If you own several shops, every one of them must be closeable. If any shop still has other members that block you (see the next point), nothing is closed and your account is not deleted.
• If you are the founder (primary owner) of a shop that has other members, deletion is blocked until you remove the other members. Team members who are not the founder can delete their account at any time; they simply leave the shop, which carries on without them.
• Customers with open orders are not notified automatically. Payment, refunds and contacting customers about open orders stay with the baker, so settle or cancel them before deleting.

• Your name and email address on the account.
• Your Google or Apple sign-in link (for Apple we also ask Apple to revoke the access).
• Your push notification subscriptions, signed-in devices and unused login codes.
• Your membership of every shop.
• Your language preference.

All your sessions end immediately.

• An anonymised account record, shown as "Deleted account" with a placeholder email that cannot receive mail. It stays so that the history of orders and team changes still makes sense.
• The records of a closed shop, including its orders and customer details, and the order history and audit entries. They are kept for as long as needed to run and account for past orders and for the limitation periods set by law, and are not deleted automatically today.
• Encrypted backups, which are deleted after 14 days.
